and human hands—countless forms of life,
living across the past, present, and future,
layer upon layer, come together to
create a single garment of silk.
This is the grand story of silk weaving,
where life itself is woven into cloth.

Rooted in forests and satoyama landscapes,
Japanese rural culture has long been nurtured
through the interweaving of life and nature’s blessings.

As expressed in the phrase "Yaoyorozu no Kami"
—the belief in eight million gods—
the Japanese people have, since ancient times,
carried their culture forward with gratitude
for all beings within the natural world.

Though such landscapes are gradually disappearing,
they still remain today across Japan—
alive in textile-producing regions,
and sustained by the people who continue to
protect and pass them on.

壮大な絹織物の服づくりの物語。

​森、里山の恵みの中で
生命が織り重なって育まれてきた

八百万神（やおよろずのかみ）
という言葉もあるように
古くから私たち日本人は
自然界のあらゆるものに感謝をしながら
文化を繋げてきた。

失われつつあるその風景が、
織物にまつわる産地に、
それらを守る人々によって
現代でも日本中に残っていた---。
